Ecobuild

A public website and coordinator workspace for a West Midlands building company

Client overview

Ecobuild

Ecobuild coordinates building work for homeowners, landlords, letting agents and commercial clients across the West Midlands. The company needed a public website that explains that role clearly, and a private workspace where the team can manage enquiries, calls, visits and delivery teams from one place.

The challenge

Ecobuild's offer is a single point of contact. The customer contracts with Ecobuild, and Ecobuild assesses the job, prepares the quotation and coordinates the employed staff or subcontracted specialists required to carry it out. That is harder to explain than a simple list of trades, and the distinction is easy to lose once an enquiry leaves the website. Jobs also arrive with very different urgency, from a leaking roof to a planned extension or loft conversion, so coordinators have to call, qualify the work, book a visit and follow up quotations for each one. Delivery-team contact details need to stay inside the business rather than appear on public pages. A brochure website would have left that day-to-day work in inboxes and spreadsheets, so the project had to cover both the public explanation and the working day behind it.

Objectives

Present Ecobuild as the company that manages the enquiry, quotation and delivery
Structure the website around the services and West Midlands areas people search for
Keep the first enquiry short, with no obligation and one clear next step
Give coordinators a daily view of calls, follow-ups, visits and overdue quotations
Record the questions that must be answered before an enquiry is marked as qualified
Let the team update selected homepage content without a code change
Keep delivery-team contact details private to operations
Ecobuild services page listing bathrooms, kitchens, renovations, extensions and roofing
Ecobuild coordinator workspace showing tasks due, calls to make now and follow-ups
Ecobuild enquiry queue with qualification questions and visit address fields

Website walkthrough

A short look at the public site: the homepage and enquiry, the services menu, a service page, and the West Midlands areas.

Our approach

01

Public website

The public site is built around one idea: the customer should not have to organise each trade themselves. The homepage says that immediately, then shows the route from enquiry to assessment, quotation and coordinated delivery. The copy is specific about responsibility. Ecobuild is the company on the contract, Ecobuild controls the quotation, and proposed changes are reviewed before extra work goes ahead.

02

Services and local pages

Each service has its own page: bathrooms and wet rooms, kitchen fitting, renovations, extensions and loft conversions, and roofing and repairs. Area pages cover Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield and Castle Bromwich and the surrounding communities. Coverage is confirmed after an enquiry is reviewed, rather than promised automatically by the form. The structure gives visitors a clear path and gives the site a sound base for local search.

03

Enquiry journey

A project request starts with the type of work and the property postcode, on the homepage or on a dedicated quote page. The full request is a short three-step form with no obligation, and it accepts residential, landlord, property-management and commercial jobs. A separate contact form handles general questions. Office hours are shown as Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, and WhatsApp is available for people who prefer to start a conversation that way.

04

Coordinator workspace

The coordinator workspace runs on UK office hours, 08:00 to 17:00. The overview shows tasks due, messages to check, qualified jobs waiting, appointments and new enquiries, then splits the queue into calls to make now, follow-ups, team confirmations and overdue quotations. Each enquiry keeps its status, service, postcode and callback, together with the questions a coordinator must answer on the call before marking it as qualified: who owns the property, whether the decision-makers are on the call, when the work is wanted, the size of the job, and the visit address. Appointments and a calendar show booked visits by assigned team. Delivery teams are recorded with the trades they cover, and those contact details stay inside the workspace.

05

Content the team can update

Selected public sections can be edited from the same workspace. Coordinators can update the coordinated-delivery cards on the homepage, including the title, description, supporting line, sort order and photograph, and check a live preview before the change is published.

Results and impact

Ecobuild now has a public site that explains the offer in the same order a customer experiences it, and a coordinator workspace that follows the enquiry after it is submitted. Visitors can see the services, the West Midlands coverage and the route from request to quotation without being asked to manage the trades themselves. The team can work from one queue: what to call now, what to follow up, which visits are booked and which quotations are late. The qualification questions sit on the enquiry, so a job is not treated as ready until the useful details have been captured. Homepage cards can be updated in the workspace, and delivery-team contact details remain off the public site.

Conclusion

The website and the coordinator workspace were built as one system. Ecobuild can explain its role clearly, take a straightforward enquiry, and then manage the calls, visits and teams that follow. The result matches how the company works: one point of contact for the customer, and one place for the team to run the day.
