Cookie Policy

Learn how we use cookies to improve your browsing experience.

What this policy covers

This policy explains how Web Works Rise uses cookies on our website. This policy sits alongside our privacy notice and our terms of service.

  • What cookies are, and why we use them.
  • Which types we set, and which need your consent.
  • How you can accept, reject, or change your choices.
  • How to contact us, or the UK regulator, if you have a concern.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser. It has a unique ID. It lets a site remember your choices and see how the site is used.

Similar tools

We may also use:

  • Web beacons and pixels.
  • Local storage in your browser.
  • Software kits built into our pages.

These tools tell us how you use the site and our services. We treat that data under this policy and UK data protection law.

Why we use cookies

  • To keep the site working and secure.
  • To remember your settings.
  • To see which pages help people, and which do not.
  • To improve speed and layout.

Types of cookies we use

Essential cookies

These cookies are needed for the site to work. You cannot switch them off in our banner. We set them when you do things such as save your privacy choices, sign in, or send a form.

  • They keep your session and our security checks in place.
  • They store your cookie choices.
  • They help balance traffic across our servers.
  • UK cookie rules do not require consent for these cookies.

Analytics cookies

These cookies count visits and show us how people move through the site. We use them to find faults and improve the pages. We only set them if you agree.

  • Google Analytics (_ga, _gid, _gat): tells users apart and limits how often we request data.
  • Microsoft Clarity (CLID, MUID, SM): session recordings and heatmaps.
  • Hotjar (_hjSession, _hjIncludedInPageview): recordings and feedback.

Preference cookies

These cookies remember settings so the site can feel more useful. We, or a partner whose tool is on the page, may set them. We only set them if you agree.

  • Language and region.
  • Access and display options.
  • Content that matches your earlier visits.
  • Chat widget settings.
  • Help filling in forms.

Marketing cookies

Ad and marketing partners may set these cookies. They can build a picture of your interests and show you ads on other sites. We only set them if you agree.

  • LinkedIn Insight Tag (lidc, li_sugr, bcookie): ads and conversion tracking.
  • Google Marketing Platform (IDE, test_cookie, __gads): ad serving and limits on how often an ad is shown.
  • Facebook Pixel (fr, _fbp): social ads and retargeting.
  • X (Twitter) pixel (personalization_id): social ads and audiences.

Your choices

Asking for consent

UK rules say we must ask before we set cookies that are not essential. On your first visit you will see a banner. Accept and Reject are shown with equal weight. We do not push you towards Accept.

What you can choose

  • Accept all: every cookie type is on.
  • Reject non-essential: only cookies the site needs to run stay on.
  • Choose by type: pick the groups you want in the preference centre.

Changing your mind

You can withdraw consent at any time. Open the cookie preference centre in the footer of any page. Taking consent back does not undo use that was lawful before you changed your mind.

Browser settings

You can also block cookies in your browser. Most browsers let you:

  • Block all cookies.
  • Block third-party cookies only.
  • Delete cookies when you close the browser.
  • Ask before a site sets a cookie.

If you block essential cookies, parts of the site may not work. The steps differ by browser.
